I, Jiye ZENG, am an research fellow at the Center for Global Environmental Research (CGER), National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), Japan. My personal e-mail is <zeng @ zegraph . com> and my e-mail for work is <zeng @ nies . go . jp>.

Having experienced with scientific data processing and management for many years, I decided to develop a library for 3D data visualization a few years ago to overcome difficulties encountered in using various softwares. I have used expensive commercial softwares, such as Matlab, PV-Wave, and IDL; and many freewares, such as DISLIN, PLPLOT, and Octave. All of them are great but lacked some features that can't be added easily; hence comes the idea of ZeGraph and Z-Script and many other libraries.

The Meteorological Data Explorer (METEX) is another free software that I developed for CGER to calculate air trajectory using various meteorological data. I am the system administrator and webmaster of the online calculation server. ZeGraph and ZeScript are being used by METEX application server to handle SOAP and CGI requests.

In addition to maintaining large monitoring databases, my recent works include real-time data download from CGER's UV monitoring stations, calculating UV index from the raw data, making graphs, and uploading the results to the server. All done in Z-Script.

My earlier research involves CO2 monitoring in the Pacific ocean.
